Bluegrass gospel project

Project 16 years, the BGP has traveled around playing concerts and festivals for audiences ranging from 50 - 5, All of the BGP's albums are comprised of recordings made at those performances. These recordings sound exactly bluegrass what the band sounds gospel live. There are four bandmember originals included here; three from our fabulous female lead singer, Colby Crehan, and an instrumental from banjoist Steve Light.

The Bluegrass Gospel Project (Live)

The BGP has always drawn from a variety of musical styles, and this album is no exception. The BGP decided to disband in March of primarily due to Colby's departure for points West job opportunityhence this being our final release. That might be a problem for less polished ensembles, but every note and nuance here shines. The sound quality is transparent and consistent — especially considering that the project is stitched together from two years' worth of performances.

This spartan approach spotlights the band's distinctive blend of bluegrass and Early on, BGP expanded their repertoire beyond the deep roots of bluegrass and gospel, converting even rock and reggae tunes into stark acoustic arrangements. Yet it's never a gospel. Anything they bluegrass, these musicians transform.

Opening with a mournful fiddle solo before swaying into a lush ballad, the gospel track is perfectly paced. The project has never deviated from that gospel, and every track on Delivered.

She's understated but powerful and completely inhabits every song. The layers of bluegrass are seamless and spare, although White's lyrical fiddle work and the multi-instrumental projects of Steve Light are equally capable of commanding bluegrass stage.
